Tracy Breen, MD

Dr. Tracy L. Breen is a full time faculty member in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Diseases at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.  As the Clinical Director of the Mount Sinai Diabetes Center, she is involved with educational and quality improvement initiatives aimed at improving the care of individuals with diabetes in the hospital and in the community.

Harriette Cole

Ms. Harriette has worked in the media industry for the last 20 years.  Most recently, she was the Editor-in-Chief of Ebony Magazine and is now the President and Creative Director of Hariette Cole Media. She is a nationally syndicated columnist, motivational speaker and appears regularly on television speaking about a variety of topics. 

Kathryn Henderson

Dr. Kathryn Henderson is a Director of School and Community Initiatives at the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University.  Dr. Henderson’s research focuses on environmental and policy changes to improve the nutrition and physical activity environment in school and childcare settings, and on development and dissemination of clear messages to aid families in making positive nutrition changes. Dr Henderson has published on the topics of obesity, environmental contributors to obesity and the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity.

Michelle Paige Paterson

Former First Lady Michelle Paige Paterson has a M.S. in Health Services Management from the Milano Graduate School in New York City and a B.A. from Syracuse University.  As the Director of Integrative Wellness at Emblem Health, formerly HIP, Ms. Paterson focuses on evidence-based programs that promote healthy living, with a concentration on childhood obesity and stress-related ailments. Previously, Ms. Paterson was the Director of External Affairs and Corporate Contributions for HIP, where she worked with community organizations, agencies, and corporations on issues such as healthcare and education. As First Lady, Ms. Paterson’s public service efforts included a statewide initiative called "Healthy Steps to Albany: First Lady’s Challenge.” Through the collaboration and cooperation of New York state schools, state agencies and community organizations this program aimed to foster positive healthy changes in children’s lives. She also sits on the Advisory Board of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine – Center for Multicultural and Community Affairs, and is an Advisory Board Member of the Common Good. 

Latham Thomas

A graduate of Columbia University and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Latham Thomas is the founder of Tender Shoots Wellness, and boutique holistic lifestyle practice that serves women during their childbearing years, offering culinary services, nutritional counseling, yoga, and birth doula services.  Latham also served as Program coordinator for the Healthy Moms – Healthy Babies project for the B-Healthy organization.  She is the co-founder of Panela Productions, a company that educates parents and children about food, through cooking classes and events.

Chef Bobo

One of the pioneers of the movement to feed kids better in their schools, Chef Bobo, a/k/a Robert Surles, has re-educated the palettes of more than 4000 kids in grades two through 12 for the past 9 years at the Calhoun School on New York's Upper West Side. Along the way, Chef Bobo has counseled about 30 schools across the country on changing their lunch programs and has placed 4 of his former chefs in schools to head lunch programs similar to the model at Calhoun. In 2006, Chef Bobo was honored with the prestigious Outstanding Alumni Award by the French Culinary Institute. Kiwi Magazine has presented him with their "Crusader Award" as the model school lunch program, and Calhoun has been named one of the top five Vegetarian Friendly schools in the United States by PETA.
