Broken RSS

Someone complained to me about my RSS feed being broken.. for some reason his reader doesn't allow <author> fields with email-addresses between < and >. I've changed it to emailaddress (Name), but I feel like this is a bug in his RSS parser (I escaped the <s and >s for a reason).

Or did I just land in double-escape hell and should I use crazy stuff like &amp;lt;, even though Feed Validator thinks my feed is valid?

Update: It seems that Planet Ubuntu is un-escaping, but then does not re-escape when it writes its own feed. Also, it doesn't seem to pick up the change I made to my <author> fields.

Yeah, that was I... I'm using Akregator, which is fairly well-used, so you'd think that if it were a bug someone would have reported it by now.

Firefox also claimed there is a problem with the feed, so I don't think that it is a bug in Akregator.

Your <dc:creator> field is now gone, and Akregator is happy again :)
